The Florida Office of Insurance Regulation has launched a website to provide data on hurricane insurance claims, showing many claims closed without payment due to damage below deductibles or uncovered flood losses. This initiative follows scrutiny after Hurricanes Helene and Milton. For Milton, 81.7% of claims were closed, with 41% denied due to sub-deductible damage. Estimated insured losses are $4.27 billion for Milton and $2.39 billion for Helene.
